Randomness

In Ottawa this weekend, we got a craving to listen to Bob Dylan. Bought a CD and there was this gorgeous picture inside:

Here are two more of my favourite pictures of musicians (because I still have that Grade 3 gene in me that causes me to look up images of people I think are dreamy):
Richard and Linda Thompson, in the midst of divorce.

Jonathan Richman dancing.

Emmylou hanging out at a bus station.

Nick Drake watching life pass him by.

Message.

Hey! I'm still here. Work became temporarily insane and I am going through one of those phases where I'm not feeling very musically inspired. I find myself listening only to the amazing mix CD I got from Liz and CBC Radio. Any recommendations?

The most sublime musical experience I've had recently was when I was in Toronto visiting my parents, and I went for a drive in my father's car - the big blue 1979 Mercury Grand Marquee that I hadn't driven for a good two years. But, it's still alive, and the plush blue interior is as fresh as it was the day it was purchased over 27 years ago. The cassette player has been broken for years, so I switched on AM radio, and Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" streamed out of the speakers, loud and clear. It was pretty awesome.
