West Coast Fall

Recently...

- Travel: A trip to Seattle a couple weekends ago.
- Music: A Feist concert here in Victoria a couple weeks ago. She was amazing, and I've had her song "Secret Heart" and her version of "Inside and Out" stuck in my head ever since.
- Dancing: At the Lucky Bar. They played the aforementioned song, as well as several others I was accustomed to dancing to at the Dance Cave in Toronto. Dancing makes me happy.
- Bodies & Power: Have been reading Wendy Brown, Judith Butler, and Donna Haraway for a class and thinking lots of thoughts about feminism, post-feminism, bodies, politics, cyborgs, etc.
- Master's Essay: Writing and thinking about Larissa Lai's novel Salt Fish Girl, along the same lines.
- Film: Re-watched Blade Runner, which fit in well with the previous concerns. What does it mean when Descartes' statement, "I think, therefore I am" comes out of the mouth of a cyborg?
- Body Movement: Yoga yoga yoga. Mostly ashtanga. Made a headstand the other day. And, my running buddy and I are getting better as the weather gets colder.
- Language: Aprendo un poco de español, porque espero viajar en américa del sur.
